SA Brown: Storyteller, Dream Builder, and Sweet Tea Enthusiast
SA Brown is a filmmaker, author, and educator who traded small-town Mississippi for Atlanta’s creative hum. With an imagination fueled by sweet tea and an obsession with character-driven stories, SA crafts narratives that blend simplicity, nostalgia, and the complexities of reinvention. From short films to stage plays to audio dramas, her storytelling celebrates Black and Brown experiences with authenticity, humor, and heart.
Her short film Telling Stories garnered six laurels, including Best First Time Filmmaker in Georgia, and her Hallmark feature, Mississippi Christmas, will premiere this holiday season. But that’s just a glimpse of her work—she’s written, directed, and produced Tales from 10th and Northside on Tubi, helms the podcast Tenth & Northside highlighting Southeast talent, and recently launched the Dining Playhouse Experience, a dinner theater merging food and live performances for a one-of-a-kind vibe.
SA’s signature lies in contemporary female-led dramas that tackle reinvention, flaws, and triumphs—often served with a side of laughter. She’s also a powerhouse educator with 20 years of teaching experience, using her classroom as a launchpad for creativity, whether guiding sixth graders through mindfulness exercises or mentoring women over 40 through Reel Action Inc., her film production program.
A proud Gen Xer with a love of cultural pride and biblical wisdom, SA merges faith, creativity, and wit across her content, from devotionals and coloring books to her Substack blog Soul & Story. And when she’s not developing mystery series or crowdfunding audio dramas, she’s traveling, because, as she’ll tell you, “Great stories aren’t just told—they’re lived.”
With projects spanning stage, screen, and ink, SA Brown isn’t just telling stories—she’s creating a legacy of voices that matter. Let’s just say, if you’re not paying attention now, you will be soon.
